Few leagues in the United States can boast of a richer tradition or more illustrious past than the east coasts Cosmopolitan Soccer League. The New York Cosmos were spawned there, and some of the world’s top clubs were regular visitors during the "golden years" of the amateur game in the 50s and 60s. Now surpassing over 90 years of existence, the league, formerly the German American Football Association, has carved out a distinct niche for itself on the American Soccer landscape. There are 106 clubs in the CSL’s 9 divisions today across the New York metropolitan area. The CSL continues to provide the highest level of amateur soccer in the area and with our work with the NY Red Bulls.

Founded in 1998 by a group of international soccer enthusiasts, including current Chairman Ian Woodcock, Manhattan Celtic has emerged as a dominant force in New York City’s soccer landscape. The club’s journey began in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League, where it steadily climbed the ranks, culminating in a well-deserved promotion to the top division. As the club’s success grew, so did its membership. The addition of Over-30 and Over-40 men’s teams, as well as a women’s team, further solidified Manhattan Celtic’s position as a comprehensive soccer club. With five teams across four divisions, Manhattan Celtic is poised to continue its growth and success, leaving an enduring legacy on the New York soccer scene.
